Damson Beeswax candle
Beeswax, as we know is a natural purifier by releasing negative ions into the air when burned. This causes airborne dust particles, toxins and odours to fall to the ground - not only helping to ease asthma and allergy symptoms by improving the air quality but also providing an effective, natural way to control and reduce indoor odours; neutralising any unwanted smells.
When a beeswax candle is burned, it emits a natural light (surrounded with a beautiful golden halo) that is the same spectrum as the sun. This unmistakeable bright golden flame, also helps to minimise eye strain and reduce headaches.
Re-introducing our new candle jars for 2025, there are four fragrances available and now in two different sized jars. You will notice that some of these candles have wooden wicks (made from sappy fruit trees that are ethically sourced from the FSC) and some have cotton wicks - these have been carefully selected based on which combination works best for that fragrance. I have always had a preference for wood wicks as I feel they cope better with the beeswax, disperse the fragrance well and produce a very gentle, soft crackle when burned which adds another sensory element of relaxation. However, they do need a little more care than a traditional cotton wick, in that all charred wood should be removed (and ideally trimmed) before relighting, ensuring your candle will burn more effectively and efficiently.
Each jar has also been chosen to reflect and compliment the fragrance profile, and they all have the option of personalisation. This means that if you are gifting for a special reason and would like me to write a few words to mark the occasion on the candle label, then add them into the comment box below. Please keep in the mind that space is limited, it is not a large area to write on, but this will really elevate your gift and make it truly personal and thoughtful. If you prefer no personalisation, then I will simply write the fragrance name on the label as per usual.
This fragrance is a firm favourite of mine, not only because it is beautiful and uplifting but also because it works across all seasons and is that perfect blend of dark fruits (plum, black cherry and blackcurrants) with just a hint of floral and spice, all married together with seductive musk, woody tonka bean and the slight sweetness of creamy vanilla to take away the sharpness.
As with all my candles, they come beautifully gift wrapped in kraft paper and a hand stamped wax seal.
Candles
Burn for at least 4 hours on the first burn, to allow the melt pool to reach towards the edge of the candle container before extinguishing; this helps to prevent a ‘tunnelling’ effect.
Always place your candle on a level, fire resistant surface and away from draughts.
It is advisable to use a candle snuffer to extinguish your candle, this will prevent the liquid wax from splattering and reduce smoke.
Before relighting your candle, always remove the charred wood and trim your wick to 5mm with a sharp pair of scissors or candle wick trimmers – this encourages your candle to perform to its best, providing a clean burn.
Never leave your candle unattended and keep out of reach of children and pets.
Standard candle is approx 190g
Large candle is approx 370g
